Farnham Leadership

Eric Bresee, MS, LMHC: Executive Director
Eric joined the board of directors for Farnham Family Services and served for two years before taking over as Executive Director in 2016. He achieved his BA in Psychology as well as an MS in Counseling and Psychological Services from SUNY Oswego before going on to obtain licensure in Mental Health Counseling. He previously worked at Oswego County Opportunities for 15 years finishing his tenure there as Program Director, overseeing many of OCO's program including Homeless Services, Services to Aid Families, Medicaid Service Coordination, the PATH, OPTIONS and Health Education. Eric obtained a credential as a Certified Community Action Professional while employed at OCO and was recognized for many achievements including Outstanding Employee, Outstanding Leader and the Amelia Whelahan Leadership Award. He was also recognized as one of Oswego County's top 40 under 40 young professionals and was awarded the Leadership Oswego County Community Leadership award in 2016. Eric is an independent contractor for Integrative Counseling Services providing mental health counseling. He serves as Treasurer for the NYS Alcohol and Substance Abuse Providers, President of the CNY Alcohol and Drug Association, Board Treasurer for Integrated Community Planning of Oswego County, Secretary for the Leave a Legacy of Oswego County Steering Committee and is a member of the City of Oswego Poverty Reduction Taskforce Steering Committee as well as sitting on multiple teams for the Oswego County Community Health and Poverty Reduction Task Force.

Penny Greene , MS, NCC, LMHC: Associate Executive Director
Penny recently joined Farnham Family Services as the Associate Executive Director after playing a key role in the pending merger with the County of Oswego Council on Alcoholism and Addictions (COCOAA).  Penny holds a BA in Psychology as well as an MS in Human Services and Community Counseling from SUNY Oswego.  Having worked in the fields of substance use disorder, mental health, and case management for over 20 years, she has provided program leadership and development in her previous positions as Executive Director for COCOAA in Oswego NY, CCBHC Clinic Manager with Citizen Advocates in Saranac Lake NY, Associate Director of Client Services with Hudson Valley Community Services in Newburgh NY, and as Health Home Care Management Clinical Supervisor with Catholic Charities in Fulton NY.  Additionally, Penny worked 8 years in clinical private practice and served 6 years as an Adjunct Instructor at SUNY Oswego, teaching Expressive Therapies to graduate and undergraduate students.  Penny holds licensure in New York and Iowa as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and is a NBCC National Certified Counselor.  She previously served as a member of the Franklin County Opioid Task Force, Saranac Lake, NY and currently serves as a member of the CNY Regional Planning Committee Workforce Committee, the Council on Addictions of New York State, the CNY Alcohol and Drug Association, and the LIFT Oswego County Poverty Reduction Task Force along with serving as the Co-Chair of its Substance Use Disorder & Recovery Subcommittee.

Mario Magsino, M.D.: Medical Director
Dr. Magsino received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1986 with a major in Chemistry from the University of the Philippines. He completed his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1990 from the Far Eastern University in Manila and completed various requisite stages of the United States Medical Licensing Examinations in 1992 and 1996. The American Board of Internal Medicine awarded him Diplomate status in 1998. He has worked as a Primary Care Physician and Internist in the Philippines since 1993. Between 1994 and 1997, Dr. Magsino completed his Residency training in Internal Medicine at Mercy Hospital (an affiliate of the State University of New York at Buffalo). He is also currently the attending Physician at the VA Outpatient Clinic in Oswego, NY. He received the Rural Health Champion Award (given by the Rural Health Network of Oswego County) in Dec. 2017 for his dedication in improving services in Oswego County. Dr. Magsino has been with the agency since 2001.

Michael Nupuf, MD: Medical Director
Dr Nupuf completed his MD degree from Ohio State University in 1974. He did residency in Internal Medicine at General Rose Hospital and St. Lukes Hospital in Denver Colorado from 1974 to 1977. He also did a Fellowship in Cardiology at Dunedin Public Hospital in Dunedin New Zealand from 1977 to 1979 and a Fellowship in Endocrinology at the Western General Hospital in Edinbough Scotland from 1979 to 1980.He was in Private practice in Internal Medicine and Cardiology in Oswego New York from 1980 to 2016.Dr. Nupuf joined Farnham Family Services in August 2017 as Medical Director of the Opioid Treatment Program.

Mary Jo Proietta-Halpern, LCSW-R ,CASAC: Clinical Services Director
Mary Jo Proietta-Halpern has been the Clinical Director at Farnham, Inc. since May of 1993. She previously held positions as a therapist at various agencies in Syracuse, NY. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from SUNY Cortland, and a Master's degree in Social Work from Syracuse University. Her activities include Drug Court liaison, and member of Family Drug Treatment Court Planning Committee. She is a licensed social worker, credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselor and a certified acupuncture detoxification therapist.

Chris Baszto, MA, CASAC: Outpatient Program Director
Chris earned his Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in Biochemistry from Queen’s University, Canada, has had education in Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University, Seattle, before continuing his education at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Southern California earning his Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, emphasizing in Depth Psychology. He has worked for Farnham Family Services as an outpatient clinician since 2011, had previously served as Senior Clinician earning his Master Level CASAC and continues to happily serve Farnham as its Outpatient Program Director.

Mark Raymond, MS, CASAC : OTP Program Director
Mark started with Farnham Family Services in 2017. He has twenty plus years working in addiction services, mostly specializing in treating Opioid Substance Use Disorder in an OTP setting. He has a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Services from Oswego State University, a CASAC, and is on the Board of Directors as a Secretary for COMPA (N.Y. State Coalition of Medication Assisted Treatment Providers and Advocates).

Patty Blackwell: Finance Director
Patty has worked for Farnham Inc. since 1994. She is from Oswego NY and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Accounting from Oswego State University College at Oswego.

Jacquelyn Thompson: Assistant Finance Director
Jacquelyn started with Farnham Family Services in 2019. Prior to joining the team she held leadership roles in finance at Third Party Administrators and a Pharmacy Benefit Manager in Syracuse, NY. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from State University of New York at Oswego.

Sandra Waldron, ABD, LMSW, CASAC II, CCTP: Operations Director
Sandra earned an Associates in Humanities at Onondaga Community College, a bachelor’s in human development at Oswego State University and a master’s degree in Social Work from Syracuse University. She also completed all but her dissertation (ABD) at Walden University in Human Service Administration. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker, a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor II and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Currently, Sandra is the Director of Operations and Corporate Compliance Officer for Farnham. Prior to this role, Sandra served as the Prevention Services Director for over two years. Through the prevention program, Sandra developed the OASAS Certified Training Institute to enhance and expand the continuing education opportunities in Oswego County for CASAC’s and Certified Recovery Peer Advocates (CRPA). Before assuming the leadership roles at Farnham, she worked in the human service field for over twenty years holding executive level leadership positions and providing mental health and substance abuse services and directorships in programs serving children, adults and families. Further, Sandra taught Psychology Courses as an adjunct professor in several local universities.

Candy Herbert, MS, LMSW, CASAC II, CRPA-P: Prevention Director
Candy earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Atlantic Union College, a master’s degree in Human Services from Capella University, and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Syracuse University. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker and a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor II as well as a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate-Provisional. Candy served as the Recovery Services Coordinator at Farnham Family Services from Dec. 2018-Dec 2019. She has over 27 years’ experience working in the mental health and addiction field, 12 of those years as an administrator and director. She worked with youth and their families in the Home and Community Based Services Waiver program, children and youth community residence, as well as with Adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use diagnosis. Candy believes that all people deserve compassion, respect and support throughout their recovery journey.

Eric Stranak, LMSW, CASAC- MC-G, CCTP
earned his dual bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Philosophy with a minor in Cognitive Science from the State University of New York Oswego. He received his master’s degree in Social Work from Syracuse University and is a Licensed Master Social Worker.  Eric is a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor-Master, with a specialty in gambling, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). Eric has nine years of experience helping people impacted by substance use disorder.  Eric started his career in the SUD field working in an inpatient and withdraw/stabilization unit as an Admission Counselor. He has also served as a Continuing Care Coordinator providing discharge planning for clients leaving the inpatient level of care and a Unitization Review Case Manager responsible for obtaining pre-authorization and continued stay reviews for continued services. Eric joined the Farnham team in 2017 and has spent his time providing direct client care both in an outpatient setting and a prevention community/school setting.  Currently Eric is employed as the Recovery Services Coordinator overseeing a team of Professional Peer Advocates.  He also helps with the Farnham training institute as a OASAS certified trainer.

Alan Francis: Prevention Services Coordinator
Alan started with Farnham in 2018 as an OTP Clinician and moved to his current position in 2020. He has a bachelor’s degree in Education from SUNY Cortland, master’s degree in Business Management and a master’s degree in School Counseling from SUNY Oswego. He is a Master Level CASAC and is an instructor in the Farnham Training Institute. He has over twenty-years working for local not-for-profit agencies providing services for children, adults, and families.

Erin Muncy, A.A.S: IT Coordinator
Erin started with Farnham in 2016. She provides oversight and management of the Information Technology team and Farnham’s electronic health record. She has an Associates of Applied Science degree majoring in Health Information Technology.

Tyler Ahart, BA: Drug Free Communities Coalition Project Coordinator
Tyler is a native of Oswego County and earned his bachelor’s degree from Oswego State University where he was the recipient of the Dean’s Writing Award and received a degree in Interpersonal Communication & Social Interaction. Before joining the Farnham team in 2018, he worked as Community Specialist for the Tobacco Free Network of CNY where he worked with local property owners to establish smoke-free housing for renters. He now serves as Project Coordinator for the Oswego County Prevention Coalition where he has since worked with City of Oswego officials to enact a Social Host Ordinance, establish Oswego County drug- disposal drop boxes and performs crucial data collection on youth substance abuse and trends. Tyler continues to work alongside community stakeholders to eliminate adolescent substance in Oswego County.

Jamie Ferman, AS, BS: Operations Manager
Jamie Joined Farnham Family Services in 2020.  Jamie earned an Associate’s Degree in Human Services with a concentration in Psychology from Jefferson Community College, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Community and Human Services with a concentration in Human Services Management from SUNY Empire. Jamie has been serving communities in leadership roles across New York State for over 25 years. Jamie’s skillset and depth and breadth of knowledge are accredited to the various leadership positions and committees she has been a part of throughout her professional career.

Monita Raponi, A.A.S: RCM Coordinator
Monita joined Farnham’s Revenue Cycle Management team in September of 2020. I earned a certificate of completion in Medical Assisting in 1996 then became a Certified Medical Assistant in 2002. I then earned my Associates degree in Paralegal Studies in 2006. Since 1996 I became versed in both the clinical and clerical aspects of the medical field. I became more active in the financial aspect of the medical field over the 15 years. Over the past 9 years I was in a supervisory position that involved increasing revenue and production efficiencies for multiple projects
